Fashion Week: Who Is It Really For?
New York Fashion Week runs from 11 to 13 September, and within hours the shows will exist mainly as clips on our phones. In this club, we'll ask who the whole spectacle actually serves now: buyers, designers, the press, the influencers in the front row, or the brands renting our attention. We'll discuss the economics behind the runway, the shift from clothes to content, and whether fashion weeks still set trends or merely announce them. Expect an hour of demanding, enjoyable English conversation: nuanced discussion, individual speaking rounds, and a debate on culture and commerce. You'll work with precise vocabulary around industry, image and influence, and practise building an argument that survives disagreement.
